This recently completed deck renovation is in the west end of Halifax, in the Westmount subdivision. The old wooden deck was deteriorating, and needed to be removed. The homeowners wanted to extend the deck further into the backyard to allow for a decent size dining table, and to allow room for the barbecue for grilling.
They chose low maintenance composite decking, and low maintenance composite railing for their project. The products selected were Timbertech’s Radiance railing, which matched the style of the neighborhood, and the architecture of the home. White deck railing was chosen to match with the existing trims on the house. The decking was Timberech Terrain, Silver Maple, and hidden, concealed fasteners were used to give a finished floor look.
The deck design used flared stairs to make the deck inviting from the backyard, and to open things up, allowing easy access to the lawn, and garden.
